Studies on Product-Service Systems PSS have risen significantly in the recent years driven by economic and sustainable benefits. In the PSS literature, the design of a PSS raises new issues since the service design and product design should be incorporated in the same product service system thesis process.
In this study a systematic literature review is conducted on PSS design process methodologies. The objective is to assess how five PSS design process methodologies support the integration between product and service design activities.
Based on an analysis of articles from Scopus database, some bibliometric indicators number of papers published per year, the most important journals and the most cited papers were provided. Considering this sample of articles, five PSS design process methodologies were analysed. The main characteristics of these methodologies were identified.
More specifically, research findings were accumulated about the strategies used in each product service system thesis for promoting the integration between product and service design activities.
